Hotel and wellness destination
How can we design a destination that feeds the senses and supports visitor wellbeing?
For our “lake hotel” project, we developed a design concept that recalls and evokes the qualities of natural environments – bringing together layered textures, patterns and variety, as well as natural materials.
OVERVIEW
The brief was for the comprehensive restructuring and refurbishment of a 142 property in Zeuthen - a popular weekend lakeside destination close to Berlin, Germany.
The hotel concept design was based on the principles of wellness and connecting with nature. The existing hotel was sprawling and hard to navigate. It had to accommodate different user groups including corporate conference users alongside wedding events and guests. The overall strategy is based on Biophilic Design approaches to recall and evoke the qualities of different natural environments.
