SHAPING PLACES FOR HUMAN WELLBEING
Join us for the Conscious Cities London Festival: FLOURISH
People shape places. Places shape people.
How can we create cities and places that better contribute to flourishing?
20th-20nd October 2020
We are co-hosting an exciting programme of inspiring talks and conversations from leading voices across science, architecture, planning and placemaking. Together we will share forward-thinking approaches and perspectives exploring how we can reimagine our urban environments to put people and planet first.
The global online festival is held by the Centre for Conscious Design, an international think tank focusing on human-centred and science-informed design to create healthier, happier, more equitable and sustainable cities.
MSS director Natasha Reid is a Fellow of the Centre for Conscious Design and is co-founding the London chapter of the Conscious Cities movement together with an interdisciplinary collective of architects, engineers and researchers:
WE ARE AN ARCHITECTURE AND RESEARCH CONSULTANCY DESIGNING PROGRESSIVE PLACES AND ENRICHING ENVIRONMENTS TO OPTIMISE PEOPLE’S WELLBEING.
We help organisations creatively reimagine their property and improve the “human performance” – how a place can deliver outstanding experiences for the people that will use it.
Our focus is how to optimise emotional, social and psychological wellbeing through the design of places, such as increasing connectedness, productivity, sense of identity, bringing wonder and excitement, or tranquility and calm to reduce stress.
By making delightful, remarkable, joyful and memorable spaces – places that attract, retain and engage people – this gives our clients increased commercial benefits, stand-out differentiation and harnesses each opportunity to make long-lasting impact.
WE DON’T DESIGN BUILDINGS:
A DIFFERENT STARTING POINT
WE DESIGN ENVIRONMENTS THAT HAVE AN AFFECT.
WE DESIGN PLACES AS EMOTIONAL AND SOCIAL EXPERIENCES.
WE DESIGN CHANGE THAT MATTERS
